Solid waste disposal methods in Sri Lanka and in many developing countries use landfill and composts that can contribute to the global rise in temperature and lead to climate change while degrading the environment to the most. We look at the capability of using bio-materials and other sorbent materials that can bind to the soil matrix by properly analyzing the fate of the contaminant.
