  • Prof. Meththika Vithanage, founder of the Ecosphere Resilience Research Centre (ERRC) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, has been awarded the 2026 TWAS Award in Earth, Climate & Environmental Sciences. This prestigious recognition honors her significant contributions to environmental research and climate resilience on a global scale.
  • Dr. Anushka Upamali Rajapaksha, Director of the Ecosphere Resilience Research Centre (ERRC) and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, has been awarded the 2022 TWAS-Atta-ur-Rahman Award. Presented by The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and UNESCO, this prestigious award recognizes her pioneering research in developing engineered biochar as an innovative and sustainable solution for the remediation of contaminated soils and water. Her work significantly advances global efforts to tackle critical environmental challenges.
