Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences for the position of Center Manager at the International Center for Multidisciplinary Studies (ICMS) of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. During the tenure, the selected candidate will work full-time on a collaborative research project with a team of researchers at the ICMS.
Qualifications
- A 2-year master’s degree with a research component from a university recognized by the UGC in a discipline related to Humanities or Social Sciences.
- Any other qualifications in research methodology and scientific writing.
Experience
- At least 08 years of research experience at a recognized university/institution.
- An excellent record of publications in UGC recognized, indexed/ peer reviewed journals.
and/or civil society.
- Demonstrated commitment to research related to Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Experience in organizing research conferences and workshops.
- Experience in drafting Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) & Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs).
- An excellent working knowledge in English.
Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of the Center Manager include the following:
- Assisting the director of ICMS with the activities of the International Center for Multidisciplinary Studies.
- Organizing monthly meetings, preparing minutes, handling the center budget, preparing reports and other correspondence of the center.
- Contributing to collaborative Survey/ Research projects conducted by the ICMS with internal & external organizations.
- Acting as a liaison between ICMS and national/ international organizations, government agencies, and/or civil society in research-related activities.
- Coordinating between the University Research Council and the Dean of the Faculty.
- Organizing workshops/ Research-related training to the junior staff.
- Providing support in organizing national/ international research conferences when and where necessary.
- Drafting Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) & Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs).
- Preparing annual, biannual and quarterly progress reports.
- Compiling research findings into comprehensive reports.
- Coordinating the research projects conducted by the ICMS.
- Producing high-quality research reports and publishing peer-reviewed/ indexed journal articles to enhance the reputation of the ICMS.
- Supporting the Faculty Research Committee to process the University Research Grant Applications.
- Supporting the enhancement and expansion of research excellence at ICMS.
- Working towards achieving the KPI’s of the ICMS.
- Handling the publication grant received from partner/ international institutes.
- Supporting to initiate the department awarding system as included in the Corporate Plan 2026-2030.
